Work at Henry's Place!
Henry’s Place is an incredible place to work! We are changing young lives, and God regularly uses this ministry to further His kingdom in the lives of youth who attend camp. We recruit campers who are at-risk and underprivileged; they wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to attend a summer camp like this, but people like YOU make it possible. Paid Staff Positions
- Weekly salary ($400/wk) and room-and-board included.
- The work week normally starts Monday morning and ends Friday evening.
- Should be available for entire camp season (May 20 – Aug 3).
- Must show a maturity in their own relationship with God and agree with our statement of faith.
- Duties include:
- Shepherding a group of campers through our camp program
- Leading daily devotionals, Bible readings, and conversations after lessons
- Ensuring campers’ safety and general well-being
- Encouraging learning and maturity
- Cabin counselors will be rotated to Support Staff positions every-other week. Those positions may include worship leader, cook/kitchen assistant, rec leader, general camp assistant, etc. Your preferred support position can be indicated on the Staff Application.
- Weekly salary ($500/wk) and room-and-board included.
- The work week starts Monday morning and ends Friday evening.
- Should be available for entire camp season (May 20 – Aug 3).
- Must agree with our statement of faith.
- Professional or large-group cooking experience is desired but not required
- Duties include:
- Making high-quality meals for approximately 26 people 3x/day, Mon-Fri, plus snacks and desserts
- Working under the direction of the Camp Director to determine menus
- Leading other camp staff who are assigned as kitchen assistants
- Ensuring that required food and drink items are on hand
- Complying with food service regulations
- Obtaining Food Safety Manager Certification (training/testing at Henry’s Place expense)
- Ensuring best practices with respect to storage, preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of foods and kitchen supplies/equipment
Can’t make it for the whole summer, but still want to help? We have plenty of volunteer positions you can help with! We generally ask our volunteers to commit to help with at least a full week of camp, and we provide room and board. Requirements for volunteers depend on the volunteer’s position, but all volunteers must agree to our statement of faith. Volunteers must usually be 18+ but exceptions (e.g. children accompanying parents) can be made on a case-by-case basis. Read more by clicking on the positions below.
Volunteer Positions
Professional expertise is not needed. If you can cook for a large group, we would love your help. We fix delicious, home-cooked meals three times a day for our campers. Menus and quantities are already provided, we just need folks to get things cooked up.
We need guitarists, pianists, drummers, vocalists, and more. If you have musical gifts to share, we have a spot for you.
We have both periodic scheduled and unanticipated needs for upkeep of our grounds and facilities. Have a spare hour or a spare week this summer? Consider volunteering to help keep Henry’s Place beautiful and functional!
